Comprehensive Eye Exams

Comprehensive Eye Exams

A comprehensive eye exam checks your vision and the overall health of your eyes. It’s much more than just a vision test for glasses!

Health and Vision History

We start by discussing your vision, eye health, medical history, and any symptoms you may have.

Vision Testing

You’ll read an eye chart to check how clearly you see at different distances.

Prescription Check (Refraction)

We use special lenses to determine your exact glasses or contact lens prescription.

Eye Movement and Focusing

We make sure your eyes work well together and can focus comfortably.

Front of the Eye Exam

Using a microscope with light, we examine your eyelids, cornea, iris, and lens to look for dryness, allergies, inflammation, or early cataracts.

Eye Pressure Test

We measure the pressure inside your eyes to screen for glaucoma.

Retina and Optic Nerve Exam

With special lenses or after dilating your pupils, we look at the back of your eyes to check for signs of diabetes, macular degeneration, and other conditions.

Additional Tests (if needed)

Depending on your eyes and age, we may perform extra tests such as retinal photos, OCT scans, peripheral vision testing, or color vision testing.
